Yanis Bitsakis is a member of the Antikythera Mechanism Research Project and the Programme of History, Philosophy and Didactics of Science and Technology. He is a scientific collaborator of the Centre for History and Palaeography.

He is a founding member of the Hellenic Society of History, Philosophy and Didactics of Science; he is also member of the Association of Ancient Greek Technology Studies and of the International Council of Museums.
